Rib Charter Rye to Arundel

We took a Rib Charter from Rye to Arundel in East Sussex yesterday. We have always wanted to run up The river Arun from Littlehampton to Arundel to have some lunch.

We arrived when the tide was flooding and followed a fishing boat in through the shallows which helped as he definitely had local knowledge. After 20 mins at 6 knots we arrived in Arundel where we moored up and headed in to town for a bit to eat.

The trip from Rye to Arundel return was 135 miles and we used 270 litres of fuel!!. On the return journey about 10 miles off Brighton we came across a wind farm test facility pic below for the new wind farm.

Looking for things to do in Rye during your stay. We can offer boat rides from Rye Harbour a mile outside town or if you came by train we can pick you up from the centre of Rye at the Strand Quay.

Other things to do in Rye

The Rye bay boat trip starts at £12 per person and runs most weekends. It is best to contact us to book as spaces fill up fast.

Longer charters are available in either the RIB or the Honda Powerboat experience where you get to drive.

Red Arrows Hastings

The Red Arrows will be flying a display on Hastings seafront this summer. Put Sunday 22nd of July 17:00 in the diary. It is also Pirate day in Hastings where everybody dresses up as pirates and attempts to break the world record for the amount of pirates in one place. Red Arrows Hastings

Full Throttle will be offering boat & RIB trips from Rye Harbour to come up the coast and watch the Red Arrows in Hastings right under the flight path. There will be 13 spaces available. 9 on the RIB and 4 on the Honda Powerboat experience boat which you will be able to drive to Hastings.

The trips

We will be leaving Rye Harbour in both boats at 15:30 on Sunday afternoon to head over to Hastings where we will anchor just off the seafront. The planes will be displaying along the seafront so we should be under the display! We will aim to be be back in Rye at 18:30.

Cost

We are charging £28pp for this trip. If you have a large group please contact us asap and we can give you a whole boat discount. Please note all trips are weather dependant and the minimum age limit for these charters is 14.

Power boating from lyme Regis

We left on a charter from Lyme Regis in Dorset this morning. Stopping at a floating restaurant in Exmouth harbour. Being careful not to run aground as lots of sand banks. Then onto Torquay for lunch in that harbour. Then high speed back to West Bay in Bridport. Total mileage 85. Great sunshine but very chilly.

P1 Powerboats racing at Eastbourne Extreme

Eastbourne Extreme will be hosting a round of the P1 Superstock Powerboat race series. On the weekend of the 14th & 15th of July. Eastbourne is round 3 of five in the one make series.

We will be offering boat trips out to see the racing up close. We will have 9 seats on our RIB available each race. These boats powered by Evinrude 250hp two stroke outboards can reach speeds of up to 65mph. The seas off Eastbourne should make for good racing.

We have RIB safety boats to escort you across the worlds busiest shipping lanes. This is quite a challenge when your in a Kayak that can only travel at 2 -5 knots. Some of the large ships travel at 20 knots so timing is everything. Our ribs have Radar & AIS (Automatic Identification system) which allows us to track oncoming ships from up to 100 miles away.

New Charter Rib

Our New Charter Rib is being built by Redbay Boats of Northern Ireland. The new boat is 7.4 meters long & powered by a Mercury Optimax 250HP outboard.
