We operate Channel Crossing Safety Boat to escort unusual trips across the English Channel by your chosen means. We are based in Rye Harbour only 6 miles from the crossing route from Dungeness in Sussex to Boulogne in France. The distance between France and the UK at this point is only 25 Nautical miles. Some recent channel crossings using our support vessels service include:
- Kayak – If you are interested in trying to cross the channel by kayak have a look at our Kayak the English Channel page.
- Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) – If your interested have a look in more detail at stand up paddle board channel crossing page.
It is best to allow a one week window in which to allow for a good chance of getting the right weather conditions for your trip. Have a look at the relevant page for you chosen method of crossing to see what the best days/weather conditions are. When you book your support vessel we require a deposit per boat to reserve your priority week. The 2017 crossing season starts in May. Contact asap to book your priority week to cross.
We have experienced crews available to help your crossing run as smoothly as possible. These trips are quite weather dependant please either contact us or call on 01424 442 729 to discuss your requirements and we will help plan your crossing. Your support crew will be on board our passenger RIB for the crossing and the return journey.
The best route for Crossing the Channel can be seen on the map below. We run from Dungeness to Boulogne in France. We tend to avoid Dover as there are ferries crossing the shipping lanes which makes for very busy times. To see how busy the shipping lanes are have a look at the Ship Tracker map. Have a look at our price list to see how much your trip will cost.
